Mountain Engine is the first story of Mountain Engines.
Plot[]
Skarloey, Rheneas and Sir Handel are having a debate on whether or not an Engine can climb mountains, suddenly Donald puff in pushing a flatbed carrying Culdee, a Mountain engine who has returned home from overhaul. Donald leaves them and the Skarloey Engines accidentally wake up the sleeping engine. Once he's awake they ask him how he can climb mountains and Culdee tells them his story.
